Donna asks…

When some says “Happy Holidays” today, what holiday are they talking about (Dec. 28 is not a holiday)?

answers:

Idk. I mean some people continue counting the holidays (xmas, hanukah and kwanzaa {i have yet to meet anyone who celebrates kwanzaa}) up until after new years…thats my best guess…

Laura asks…

What holiday today resembles the Roman holiday of Ludi Megalenses?

It doesn’t necessarily have to be a holiday, but something we celebrate.

answers:

Ludi Megalenses can be compared with feasts celebrating spring and resurrection of nature, feasts, the older cultures celebrated with practices we even today use at easter, f.e. Easter bunny and easter eggs.

In different cultures people welcome spring with a celebration sometimes in combination with New Year,
Some examples:
Nowruz, marking the first day of spring and the beginning of the year in Iranian calendar.

Chinese New Year, Lunar New Year, or Spring Festival

In several European regions Spring Festivals are reveled in the middle of April, e.g.Stuttgart Spring Festival, a folk festival to celebrate that winter is over and the world starts flowering again.

Thomas asks…

Is cell phone service free today and other holidays?

answers:

It depends on your rate plan. Some rate plans have your minutes that are used on a holiday (New Years, Christmas, Thanksgiving, Independence, Memorial, and Labour Day) come out of your N&W minutes (which in most cases is unlimited). You have to call your service provider if your plan includes holidays or not.

Robert asks…

30 Weeks Pregnant, Hating the holidays today ?

I’m 30 weeks and 3 days pregnant. I wanted to go shopping for a few “pick me ups” but they were out of EVERYTHING I even half way wanted…. My bath soak, the nail polish color I’ve been wanting to get (and had just decided to get no matter the price/up to $6 lol), even the mac and cheese and milk I wanted… I know its because of the holidays but MAN I got upset. Then I almost got hit twice in the belly (and the people were NOT gonna stop to keep from hitting me, I had to move FAST). I’m just ready for him to get here (and to lose this dang weight, forget eating out on my birthday now! Oh which happens to be on the day after Christmas!)

Ugh! Am I alone in hating the holidays this year, or do any other mommies or mommies to be feel this way too???

answers:

You’re not alone. I hate how people are during the holidays, I was standing in line buying groceries and some man ran into my belly then had the balls to say, “excuse YOU”.

I still plan on going out for my birthday and I will be 37 weeks then.

And people (like family) don’t think of how inconvenient it is for you to go to all of their holiday events. I’m 35 weeks pregnant, forgive me if I’m too tired and sore to go watch your children open presents.

Ruth asks…

Have you been or will you be celebrating the holiday today?

I’ve started at midnight and will quit at midnight. Today is the real earth day.

answers:

I already started :)

Donald asks…
